What we do with your information
When you sign up through this site we collect your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it for one purpose: running Derek Masselink's campaign for North Cowichan Council — sending campaign updates you asked for and following up on the ways you offered to help.
When you contribute to the campaign we also collect your legal name, residential address, email address, phone number if you give one, and the amount. The Local Elections Campaign Financing Act requires the campaign's financial agent to record every contribution and report it to Elections BC, which publishes contributions of $100 or more by name and amount. Those records are kept by the financial agent for as long as the Act requires, are shared only with Elections BC, and are used for nothing else. Your e-transfer goes directly from your bank to the campaign's account — this site never sees your banking details.
We don't sell or trade your information, and we don't use trackers or analytics cookies on this site. When you submit a form, it is delivered to the campaign by Postmark, our email service provider, which processes it only to deliver it.
Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can just reply and ask. To see, correct, or delete what we have about you, email team.masselink@gmail.com. Contribution records required by law can be corrected but not deleted before the retention period ends.
